Nashville’s All-Ages Country Dance Party

We offer the only all-ages country dance party in Nashville with three dance areas! We offer line dancing on one floor, country swing and west coast swing on another, and a racetrack around the larger dance floor for progressive dances like two step & pattern partner dancing. This way everyone can do what they love! Each dance party starts out with lessons for both beginners and advanced dancers so you’ll be able to have fun no matter your level!

Next Two Dance Parties Will Be Tennessee State Championship Qualifying Events!

We are proud to announce that the strictly competitions at our dance parties on August 13th and Sept 10th will offer Country Swing Dance qualifying competitions for the Country Nomads/DNA Tennessee State Country Swing Championships. The championships will be held the weekend of September 15th here in Nashville, TN in conjunction with loads of workshops as part of the Dance Nash Aftermath (DNA) event.

The top three finishers in our Country Swing Strictly Competition will earn free entry into the state championship competition. In addition, the top three places will earn cash prizes ($75/$50/$25) plus prize packs for DNA: 1st place – full weekend pass, 2nd place – single day pass, 3rd place – evening pass.

The championship is a strictly competition meaning you must sign up with and compete with a partner. You will not be paired up with a random partner (ie. Jack & Jill). We will be offering a Jack & Jill class at the parties, however those do not qualify you for the state championship event. Also, keep in mind that the partner you qualify with must be the same partner you compete with at the state championship.

The ONLY WAY to earn a spot in the state championship is through a preliminary qualifying event like our two dance parties, so be sure to grab your partner and your friends and head to our dance parties!

What Is DNA?

DNA (Dance Nash Aftermath) starts 9/15 with a country swing bar crawl. 9/16 – 9/17 will be their intermediate-all star country swing convention with instructors from across the country including: Robert Royston (NY), Country Nomads (AZ), Reding Dance (TX), Adia Dance (CA), Danya Svir (AZ), and more.

DNA will offer a Jack and Jill swing competition (random partners), line dance competitions as well as social dancing at the hotel/event on Saturday.

Our All-Ages Country Dance Party

Everything You’ve Wanted In A Country Dance Party

We start out the night with lessons for country line dancing, country swing, two step and/or pattern partner dancing. After that we have open dancing, competitions, giveaways and more. Every Country Dance Party is just a little different but the one constant is fun and the best country dancing with ALL the dances you love.

Nashville Country Line Dancers Of All Ages Dancing

Line Dancing – Both the New New and the Classics

Many line dancers get frustrated that the dances at their local line dance bar are too advanced. Others complain that they don’t do any dances that they know or that the dances they teach, they don’t actually use. Because we have separate dance floors, we get more line dances in than most country dance halls. Our focus from the start has always been to teach and dance the classics including Canadian Stomp, Tush Push, Watermelon Crawl and more, while continuing to push the envelope with new and popular dances. If you’ve felt left out, you are new and don’t know where to start, or you love the advanced dances popular today, we are a fantastic place to do your country dancing.

Country Swing Dancing

If you’ve seen this super-fun partner dance and want to try, or you are already passionate about it, we are the place to go. We offer a beginner lesson at the start of each night to get you going or to refresh you on current techniques. But what really makes this the place to go for country swing is that we have a separate dance floor just for country swing and west coast swing! That’s right, no more dodging two steppers who are cutting through the middle of the floor. Plus you get to swing dance all night long. Gone are the days of having to alternate with the line dancers. Everyone gets what they love, all night long.

Progressive Two Step and Pattern Partner Dancing

If you love to two step around the dance floor, you now have your chance in Nashville. We are the only dance option in Nashville that gives you space to do what you love. Our Nashville Country Dance Party reserves a race track around the dance floor to give space for you to dance. And if you love pattern partner dances like Schottische, Rebel Stomp, Cowboy Cha Cha and Charleston Bump, you are in luck. We are THE ONLY place in Nashville that gives you a dedicated lane to do your thang. We love pattern partner dancing and will be offering lessons as well as calling the dances so you know in advance what dance to do. Pattern partner dancing is how many are introduced to country dancing and we want to keep the tradition going. Have a favorite PPD, let us know!

Etiquette

We are a dance event, not a bar. We do no sell alcohol so the issues that come with that, like poor etiquette, are less of a problem. Regardless, we are focused on offering the best dance experience possible. We encourage proper etiquette like not standing on the dance floor and keeping the lane clear for the two steppers. Plus, since there is no alcohol being sold, you don’t have the issue of spilled drinks on the dance floor.

Come As You Are

We are friendly to everyone who wants to dance. We don’t care what you look like, what your dance experience is or what you are wearing. Come in sneakers…come in boots, it doesn’t matter. There is no need to buy any particular clothing to look a certain way. You will find plenty of people just like you when you come to our events. So come alone or grab your besties and come on out to learn how to country dance and make new friends.

Raffles and Giveaways and Fun Contests

We have raffles and giveaways at our events for free classes, private lessons, entry into another dance party, stickers, wristlets, souvenir cups and more. Plus we try to have fun, free, friendly contests at each party that also have prizes.

All Ages Welcome

We are open to all ages. That being said, we need to create a safe dance experience. Our recommended age is 12 and up due to the complexity and speed of most dances.

Dance Competitions

We typically try to have a dance competition at every event. Some have cash prizes. Some are just for fun. The staff at Turn Their Heads competes nationally and we recognize how important it is to get accustomed to a competitive environment. We want to offer options for the growing number of competitive dancers in Nashville so that the level of dancing can improve. Turn Their Heads wants the world to know how incredible our dance community is. As such, we plan to offer a competitive activity at each dance party for those who like a challenge and the excitement that comes with being in the spotlight.
